The Key Differences Between WordPress.com And WordPress.org.

Many people and especially newbies doesn’t know if these are two and different sites and end up making a wrong decision when creating their blogs.

WordPress.org is the oldest site which offers all the blogging applications at one position. Creating your blog in WordPress.org gives you the whole ability to entirely managed your blog.

In WordPress.com, your blog is not entirely owned by you and therefore you are very limited to control what happens within your blog. Unlike in WordPress.org which is free, in WordPress.com, you are required to upgrade to paid plans so as to be able to unlock many site tools and to monetize your blog.

WordPress.com will host your site and do all the work for you while in WordPress.org you are responsible for your blog site.

WordPress.com is for users who are okay with what is provided for them by the management while in WordPress.org you are responsible for all the management of your blog.

Thank you very much for spending your time on my blog.

  1. Biggest difference is WordPress.com will host your site and do all the prep work for you while you are responsible for that in WordPress.org.

WordPress.com is best for users that can live within the confines of what’s provided for free in the setup. WordPress.org puts all the management on you, and it will cost you to host your own site, pay for a domain name, buy a theme, etc….
